My first two didactic years were completed at the main medical school campus in Kansas City Missouri. My last two clinical training years were based at University Community Hospital in Tampa, FL. I was able to surround myself with a plethora of orthopedic surgery learning opportunities which I took full advantage of after completing my daily clinical extern duties. I was introduced to Dr. Phillip G. Speegle at the Tampa General Orthopedic Trauma clinic. He became an important mentor and granted me access to the orthopedic residents and attendings. Dr. Fredrick McClimans also allowed me open door access to his private orthopedic surgery practice.
